“Coming off a rough year, RMYC gave me a chance to look at my current life situation and relationships from the outside. I feel like I know who my good friends are now. And I am able to accept others not like me a little bit better.” In addition to his experience on the Regional Conservation Crew, Casey volunteered three weeks of his time mentoring sixth grade students at the Yampa Valley Science School. As a student of the Steamboat Springs High School’s newly developed SEAL (Students Engaged in Active Learning) program, Casey was given the opportunity to receive school credits through his participation as a Junior Leader. Casey will be returning to RMYC’s 2005 summer conservation crew program as a Conservation Corps Mentor for the Leadership Development Crew. |
