RMYC Profiles - Office Staff

Gretchen Van De CarrExecutive Director. Gretchen Van De Carr has served as Executive Director since founding the organization in 1993. Gretchen has a MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. She was a founding member of Partners in Routt County, the Community Evaluation Team (CET), Grand Futures Prevention Coalition, and the Routt County Family and Adolescent Resource council (FAR), and currently serves on the executive committee of CET, and on FAR, the Human Resource Coalition, and the Craig-Scheckman Foundation Steering Committee. Gretchen is the proud mom of two beautiful boys, Otis and Oliver. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys skiing, camping, playing hockey, and music.

Sheila WrightDevelopment Director. Sheila Wright has served as Development Director of RMYC since May of 2005. She holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts in Economics. Sheila has over 17 years of sales, marketing and public relations experience and came to the RMYC as a liaison for the Routt County United Way. Her civic duties include Routt County United Way Past President and Campaign Chairperson, and fundraising successes also have included the Heuga Snow Express for Multiple Sclerosis and several Kiwanis Club projects. Sheila enjoys skiing, biking, and any outdoor activity.

Mark WertheimerProgram Director. Mark Wertheimer is the newest staff member of RMYC. Mark came on board at RMYC in December of 2005 as Conservation Program Director and has recently been promoted to Program Director. He has a MS in Environmental Education from the Audubon Expedition Institute-a field-based, 2 year graduate program based out of Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. After serving as a Program Director for Living Classrooms Foundation in Baltimore, Field Director with Southwest Conservation Corps and a wilderness guide in Alaska prior to attending graduate school, Mark has eagerly returned to Conservation Corps work in order to apply his recent studies and field experience. Mark enjoys snowboarding, bio-diesel trucks, camping and playing music.
