Who:  Ages 14-15 (*exceptions will be made on a case by case basis)
What: A program designed to provide leadership and hands-on workforce experience for youth. This is a crew-based format with 8-10 crew members (youth).  Two Crew Leaders supervise, facilitate education curriculum, and engage in conservation based projects with youth in their communities. Crew-members are paid a weekly stipend.  
How Long: Two-weeks, the first week is Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, second week is Monday- Friday camping 24/7. 
 
Why: Youth Crew provides unique entry-level workforce opportunity for youth that builds on job readiness skills, resiliency skills, community engagement and environmental awareness.  
 
Service: Participants are paid a wage to provide service to local and surrounding organizations. Projects include beautifying, weeding, trail work, restoration, gardening, and other conservation based projects. 
 
Education: Consists of job readiness, leadership skills, life skills training, alcohol and substance awareness, environmental education, and civic and social responsibility.
Applications for Routt CYC crews will open February 1st, 2020. Interviews will begin February 15th. Announcements for placements will begin on March 1st.
All other Community Crew Applications will open March 1st, 2020. Interviews will begin March 15th. 
Acceptance into program will be solidified upon completion of paperwork.

Youth with incomplete paperwork one week from program start may forfeit their placement.
