Building Trades
Grades 11-12
What to Expect
Crew Members will spend a 9+ week summer session on a crew of up to eight participants and an adult instructor, to develop construction
skills while building a tiny home. This crew will operate out of the
SOROCO High School campus, located in Oak Creek, CO.
This program provides hands-on lessons and experience
in a variety of construction trades, including carpentry, roofing, siding, electrical, plumbing, heating, venting, drywall, interior and exterior trim,
cabinetry, and other aspects of the tiny home construction project.
Job readiness skills and activities will be included in the program,
as well as interaction with local construction employers to
explore future career and networking opportunities.
RMYC is proud to partner with YVPS3 to provide this paid work-based learning opportunity for high school students in the Yampa Valley.
